February saw Cork Budokai represented well at the Irish International Goodwill Taikai. Cork 1 Made it to the quarter finals but couldn’t make it to the Semi’s like last year. The competition was much harder. Cork 1 Consisted of Robin Deegan, Jason Clousten and Szilárd Szucs. Cork 1 were however noted for their nice kendo and spirit and recieved fighting spirit award for the team. Szilàrd was our chosen representative to fight in the team Individuals and he also recieved fighting spirit in that tournament. Cork 2 (Vincent Long, Mark Jessop and Jason Buckley) put up a very good performance also, and came home with a lot of good experience. It was Jason Buckleys first tournament and he did great. Congrats also went to Szilárd who succesfully passed his San Dan grading! Well done.
